Open Call: Current - Nordic Festival Talent Exchange

Current - Nordic Festival Talent Exchange is a new collaborative initiative between Iceland Music, Iceland Airwaves, Music Norway, by:Larm, Music Export Denmark and SPOT Festival.

The project is designed to support artist mobility, strengthen curatorial collaboration, and create more sustainable pathways for Nordic music internationally.

Through the initiative, selected artists will perform at:

• by:Larm (Norway) — September 2026
• Iceland Airwaves (Iceland) — November 2026
• SPOT Festival (Denmark) — May 2027

Each participating country will select two acts to take part in the exchange programme.

Who can apply?

Artists must meet all eligibility criteria to be considered.

Applicants must:

• Be based in one of the participating countries
• Have experience performing live
• Have released music commercially
• Work with a professional representative within the music industry (manager, booking agent, label, publisher, PR, etc.)
• Be at a stage in their career where international showcasing is strategically relevant

What is included?

Selected artists will:

• Perform at all three partner showcase festivals
• Receive travel support and performance fees
• Gain exposure to Nordic and international music industry delegates
• Participate in networking and professional opportunities connected to the festivals

Current is a pilot initiative focused on strengthening Nordic collaboration within the live music and showcase sector. The project aims to create sustainable and transparent models for artist exchange while supporting artistic development and international opportunities across the Nordic region. The project is supported by The Nordic Culture Fund.
