Signý Leifsdóttir, specialist at Tónlistarmiðstöð, will be in Akureyri on May 19th and 20th to offer tailored guidance to the local music community.
Signý will provide 50-minute consultation sessions. Drawing from her extensive industry experience, her work at Tónlistarmiðstöð focuses on education and export—with a particular emphasis on classical, contemporary, and film music. However, artists of all genres are encouraged to attend.
The sessions will take place at the SSNE offices at Skipagata 9, 3rd floor. Availability is limited; we encourage those interested to secure a slot as soon as possible by booking here.
What can be discussed?

- Strategy and Professional Development: Clarifying your vision and setting actionable goals.
- Grants and Funding: Exploring available grants and the requirements for successful applications.
- Copywriting and Promotion: Presenting projects with professional clarity in applications and promotional materials.
- Export: Insights into international projects led by Tónlistarmiðstöð, such as showcase festivals. Understanding the prerequisites for export and how to prepare.
- Film Music and Sync: Navigating the landscape for film composers and building networks through initiatives like Nordic Film Music Days. Understanding the distinction between scoring and sync, and how to pursue these opportunities.
- Operations: Advice on the management and structure of music-related projects or businesses.
- Composers: Career building within contemporary and film music.
- Sustainability and Inclusion: How to develop projects—such as festivals—with a focus on sustainability and inclusion, in alignment with national music policies.
- Engagement with Tónlistarmiðstöð: Discussing opportunities available through our work, including RVK/Nantes, the Festival Fund (Hátíðarpottur), Music Fund workshops, educational events, and more.
We look forward to seeing you there.
