Reykjavík Music City, City of Nantes, Iceland Music, STEF, hafnar.haus and the Trempo music center in Nantes are offering a residency exchange program for musicians from Reykjavík and Nantes.
The project aims to connect the two cities and their music communities while promoting sustainable collaboration through the power of music and creativity.
The residency offers the selected individual an opportunity to create music in a fully equipped studio and rehearsal space for 2-3 weeks, with no specific requirements regarding the final outcome of their work. The residency also provides a unique opportunity to connect with the music scene in Nantes and throughout France, both with other artists and professionals from the music industry.
Trempo is a unique music institution in Nantes dedicated to all aspects of practicing, creating, producing and performing new music. Founded in 1990, it is located in a seven-story building in the heart of the city. The facility includes 2,300 square meters of workspace, 16 studios, a terrace and a bar.
The planned residency period for a musician from Reykjavík in Nantes is Sept. 10-26, 2025. The exact timing will be determined in consultation with the selected applicant.
