Meet the Artists

RAKEL works with memory and atmosphere to create her unique sound. Her music combines voice, field recording, and emotion into layered compositions that feel intimate and expansive. Birds, clocks, breath, soft synths, the creak of a floorboard, nothing is too small to become part of the composition. RAKEL has become a singular presence in the Icelandic music landscape, performing with artists like Nanna (Of Monsters and Men), Axel Flóvent, and Kaktus Einarsson. Her debut album “a place to be” was released on Ólafur Arnalds’ OPIA Community this past October and garnered widespread acclaim from top Icelandic and global media.

Teaming up with Record in Iceland at last year's Iceland Airwaves, the Line of Best Fit headed to RAKEL's apartment for a sublime performance of "11:11"

Spacestation’s first release, Hvítt vín, earned a 2024 Icelandic Music Award nomination, with the band winning the award the following year for the song "Í Draumalandinu." Both tracks featured on their debut LP, Reykjavík Syndrome, released last year to unanimous critical acclaim. The noise rockers have toured Europe extensively ever since and are now heading to the US for the first time.

This constant life on the road is the inspiration behind Bjöggi’s Love Letter playlist, which he dedicates to homesickness. The energy is arctic and harsh but with enough homecomforts to keep you warm and toasty.

Enjoy!
