Árstíðir are the Icelandic artists showcasing at Nordic Folk Alliance, festival and conference in Roskilde, Denmark in May. 

Árstíðir is a band that embodies the essence of Icelandic culture, blending tradition with modernity in their music. Their early success saw their singles topping the charts on Icelandic National Radio, and their rendition of the Nordic hymn "Heyr himna smiður" went viral introducing ancient Nordic melodies to a global audience. Since then, Árstíðir has been a prominent figure in the European Folk scene, participating in major events like Bardentreffen and TFF Rudolstadt, and winning accolades such as the Eiserner Eversteiner European Folk Music Awards in 2013. 

They've toured over 30 countries across three continents, cultivating a dedicated fanbase that has supported half of their eight-album discography through crowdfunding. Their signature lies in their vocal harmonies, with each member taking turns as lead vocalists, creating rich emotional textures enhanced by soaring string arrangements. In 2024, Árstíðir is returning to their acoustic roots on stage and releasing their first purely a cappella album, delving deeper into Icelandic hymns and traditional songs. Their journey has brought them full circle, embodying the seasonal metaphor of renewal and growth.

Nordic Folk Alliance is the largest annual meeting place for the Nordic Folk community and the industry surrounding it. The event focuses on music from the Nordic countries, and welcomes delegates from across the globe. During the event you can hear the music at showcase concerts, and expand your network and knowledge at seminars and talks - and there will be plenty of opportunities to connect with new and old friends.

The curated showcases feature touring and export-ready artists, representing a diverse array of folk genres including Nordic Folk, Global Roots, Americana, Indie-Folk, Indigenous Music, Traditional, Singer-songwriter, Spoken Word, and every imaginable fusion.
