To celebrate Reykjavík Jazz, Iceland Music invites musicians and festival delegates to the Reykjavik Jazz Nonference, featuring special international guests of this year’s festival. The event takes place at the Iceland Musicoffices on Friday, August 28, from 14:15 to 17:15.

Schedule:

• 14:15–15:00: Charlie Vetter, director of the French jazz festival Cosmojazz, offers insight into France’s thriving jazz festival scene and key opportunities for Icelandic artists in the country.
• 15:15–16:15: A roundtable discussion on the Canadian jazz market with Walter Venafro, broadcaster at Jazz FM, and Angela Heck, executive director of Jazz Winnipeg.
• 16:30–17:15: A conversation with Arne Schumacher, journalist for the German magazine Jazzthetik, on Icelandic jazz in Germany.

The program offers a unique opportunity for artists looking to export their work - both to learn about key opportunities in some of our most vital international markets and to connect with key figures in the global jazz industry. We encourage this year's festival performers, as well as the broader improvisational music community, to join us.
